Hey welcome back. Now comes that time of the year were movies (and another top 10 list) are so hyped up its either more than expected, as expected, or why did we even care for this movie in the first place; why did we even care for the hype? Here are those movies:
10.) Daybreakers
This movie is now out, but I am willing to watch any Vampire movie that isn’t Twilight right now. I am willing to believe this is anti-Twilight. Seriously any Vampire movie is better than Twilight. Even Blade 3…nah I won’t go that far. Ethan Hawke may be a turn off, but Willem Dafoe could bring me into this movie, along with Sam Neill.
9.) Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Never read the Manga/British comic (is it British?), but I have heard of the story, learned Edgar Wright was directing, and stars Michael Cera. I’m in. Also the movie reunites Michael Cera and Mae Whitman, both of Arrested Development fame. In the movie Michael’s character has to fight her, because, well, Michael’s character’s girlfriend used to date her. Find out more by watching the movie! Also Superman is in this.
8.) Alice in Wonderland
Uhhm close enough, right?
Yeah, I’ve had my curiosity peaked when I heard Alice is going back through the looking glass. Not so much the Johnny Depp stuff (nah, he’s good in my book), but Tim Burton can bring me into his movies some of the time. The most reason I am looking forward to this movie is when Disney made the short based on the classic book starring Mickey Mouse in “Thru the Looking Glass.” Oh, and the Disney animated feature film.
7.) Clash of the Titans
I honestly wasn’t planning to put this here and I honestly wanted to hate the trailer, but after watching it so many times; I totally will go for it now. In a world where CGI basically dominates movie making, I am going to have to go for movies like this. It’s not that I hate CGI, I feel it’s a bit of a cliché for movies nowadays. I think I miss a mess of special effects and when people made creatures and monsters from awesome suits or from other materials. Those days are mostly gone…eh, I’ll make do with this.
6.) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
Well it’s the beginning of the end for this franchise. Well not yet anyway, since they decided to separate it in two parts. This will be, out of all the other movies, the most accurate to the book because of how lengthy this one will be. Even though I read somewhere how the last movie would be going, I read only the last part of this one. Dang, I just remembered that; why did I remember now?
5.) Kick-Ass
This will be the first movie based on a graphic novel by Mark Millar. It’s about ordinary people that turn into heroes that wear costumes and such. The craziest thing about the movie is the inclusion of a 9-10 year old that well, kicks ass and shouts curse words. Another crazy fact is the person who fills in that role, which is none other than Darby from the new Winnie the Pooh series. Can’t get any more extreme than that; except with the unfortunate inclusion of Nicholas Cage.
4.) Tron Legacy
Not sure who exactly would be into this movie. I have seen the first movie, but I have seen people be into this movie without watching the first movie. Either way, this movie is shaping up to be awesome; even if we only get a preview clip so far. Even if that is the case, the technology put into this film is quite top-notch. Also, just a bit of a tidbit; remember that remade people mover ride that’s at Tomorrowland in Disneyland, but was closed down due to an accident? They are removing that and make room for: Light Cycles.
3.) Inception
So, are you guys telling us this is going to be better than The Dark Knight?
Seen the trailer for this? It’s shaping up to be another mind-blowing movie from Christopher Nolan himself. Even when he isn’t doing a Batman movie everyone knows that he’s formulating another awesome movie. I’m also not much of a Leonardo DiCaprio fan, but I believe in Nolan’s work so it doesn’t bother me much with this movie. Although, even by seeing the trailer it might have to do with espers or something of that similar fashion. Either way I’ll be there with M&Ms in hand.
2.) Toy Story 3
Same movie, different storyline image.
Even if I didn’t see a trailer, I know something of this caliber would be coming. Andy would be much older and wiser; which would be the reason he wouldn’t play with his toys anymore. Although, something completely different happened in the trailer. Andy actually saved his toys; well the regulars anyway. But its short lived when his mom mistakes his toys for trash and the toys end up being separated from their owner, maybe for good this time. Even with the storyline I am still a big Pixar fan and especially a fan of the Toy Story movie series. This is definitely one not to miss for fans.
1.) Iron Man 2
This probably should come to no surprise. I didn’t think I would become a fan of the original movie. I was never an Iron Man fan. That was until Jon Favreau came and boosted lots of energy into the alcoholic superhero. Especially with the excellent casting of Robert Downey Jr. as the man behind the iron suit. After being completely surprised as how good the first movie went, I am looking way forward to how Jon Favreau will make Mickey Rourke a villain, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Don Cheadle filling in Terrence Howard’s previous role.

Whatever happened to the proposed movie based on that version of Alice?
And how much will you be paying for those M&M's?
I still prefer that abandoned plotline for Toy Story 3
