Wow I Haven't Read A Book In A While...

And now I have. The recent book I just read is a book called "I Am Legend." It's actually pretty good, it was both frightening and with a bit of depressed feeling to it, but it pays off. I'll give a short synopsis of the book which was also turned into a movie, with mixed results. As most people probably know, it is about the last man on earth and the world ending in the 1970's so we don't have to worry about that. So what happened to the human race? In the book a mysterious plague had hit the earth and every human, except Robert Neville (the last man on earth), turned into Vampires. Which is kinda like zombies, but well, not. I won't reveal how it happened and why so your gonna have to read the book. As most know since he is the last man on earth, Robert Neville is immune to the plague. So as he tries to avoid the Vampires at night he tries to find a cure.

Theres a basic plot summary for it, but the book is always better than that. As I have heard the movie, starring Will Smith, is very different from the book. As I have seen from trailers, it is. But that doesn't necessarily make it a bad movie either. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyways. I also heard the ending is different, which kinda and hopefully doesn't ruin the whole premise for the meaning of the words: "I Am Legend."

The movie comes out on DVD March 18 and I'm sure I'll pick it up
. Theres also a two disk set which has an alternate ending closer to the book, which is the version I want. On a scale of 1-10 I give the book a solid 9.

All the Robert Nevilles:

Hm, their hair gets shorter every time...

They also made an I Am Legend movie in UK, but its about zombies, and its called "I Am Omega" which sounds way too ripped off. And also Vincent Price's name in "The Last Man on Earth" was Dr. Robert Morgan, its the same difference.

The Kwik-E-Mart Isn't Dead?

Thank you jebus. In advance for the new The Simpsons: The Ride in Universal Studios, a Kwik-E-Mart has quietly opened in the theme park next to the future ride site. Well that solves a problem for people who still want to see the Kwik-E-Mart who haven't seen it during The Simpsons Movie promotions. Now its a time to say: Woo-hoo!

Heres a pic of the one in Orlando with a random wheelchair guy. Yep we got one here in Hollywood as well.

Those Writers Are on a Role

  • Well I don't think writers had a part in casting positions, its still good to have em' back. Word on the Street Fighter(terrible pun) Chun-Li movie is that it is definitely being made since four official castings have announced. Kristin Kreuk aka. Lana Lang, is set and officially announced to be the main role as Chun-Li. Michael Clarke Duncan will be Balrog (I see it), Chris Klein as Nash(which street fighter was that?), and Rick Yune as Gen. The role of M. Bison is still being researched. There are also three other actors that have been cast, but have yet to have roles, which I forget the names of the actors for. Source: IGN

  • Gambit fans rejoice! We now have our Gambit in the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. The movie is also gonna have Deadpool. Who else can't wait? The roles will be played by Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Taylor Kitsch as Gambit. This movie is already sounding awesome and we mostly know absolutely nothing about it.
  • Another cool casting news in the new G.I. Joe movie, directed by Stephen Sommers, Jonathan Pryce also known for his role as Governor Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean has been cast as the President in the new movie. Ray Park was also cast as Snake Eyes earlier which I thought was perfect as well as the president casting. Sienna Miller will also be Baroness. Can't wait to see this as well.
  • In other semi related news, I'm not really looking forward to the new Mummy 3 movie, which has a Chinese mummy. The teaser trailer is said to premiere soon, but I still miss the good days when a Mummy movie had Rachel Weisz and an Egyptian mummy.

"What Is That?!"

"I don't know, something terrible."

  • Actually its something pretty cool.
Unless you want to see the movie Cloverfield, then don't look at these next pictures which shows a toy sized Cloverfield Monster. Unless you want to spoil the movie or already seen the move take a look at what the monster looks like as a Hasbro toy. Its pretty sweet:

Pic 6
Yes it includes the Liberty Head and no I don't think it comes with the Hasbro truck. Its also only available online for $99.99.

  • Well I just saw the movie again and I forgot just how awesome the movie really was. So I am going to give my second time watch Cloverfield movie Review:
Cloverfield is one of those movies that audiences will be very confused about and will get mixed reviews. For some reason people want good acting in every movie they see. They obviously are not movie fans, at all. What people don't realize is in this movie, they aren't supposed to be good at acting, because they are acting. They are acting like everyday people, we aren't actors and probably never will be good. How would you react to a monster attacking your city? Exactly, just how they are acting in the movie, or somehow different. This is how these people react to it.

Oh yeah and this movie will really get you sick if you are a person a victim to motion sickness just to tell you. The camera is really shaky. If you don't get sick, then enjoy the movie. There are very many scenes were it will scare you, and movies rarely do that these days. The monster is really scary too, it looks also just as insane as J.J. Abrams described. Watching this movie twice gives me a better sense on what this movie is really about. First time I was scared, this time, not as much, but it was still really good.

Well thats all I have really to say since I don't want to give a lot away, but its really good and everyone should see it, but realize the acting please. Maybe its best to just wait till it comes out on DVD since not a lot of theaters are showing it. Well if I rate this on a scale of 1-10 i give it about an 8.5. Its really good so enjoy it.

Also theres speculation theres two monsters, who knows.

Word(s) of the Day: Burlap Sac (This gets stuck in my head a lot)

Were Scientists Wrong Again?

Study the picture below. See something were the arrow points? No? Look closer you will see it. Apparently NASA has found something on the surface of Mars. Whatever they found its big and its causing a big fuss on the net. You see anything now? If you can you must have amazing eyes because I can't see a thing. Lets look closer.

Well what NASA found was a figure. Looks really small comparing to the picture above, but in reality that picture is much bigger. And that figure, might be from a really far off location from where the rover is at. Thats seriously something though. Have your own theories on what it may be. Source: DailyMail.co.uk

Hm, I don't see any Sand People...

What a minute I see one of them now.

Frodo Faces More Issues

It seems we have to wait a lot longer for The Hobbit to be released. It seems New Line is in trouble with issues once again, and this time it isn't with Peter Jackson. Apparently the Tolkien estate is suing both New Line and Jackson. What is it exactly? More money issues. Apparently the Tolkien estate is getting no money whatsoever for any of the movies made. What does this mean for The Hobbit? Could be years for the movie to show up now...Guillermo del Toro was supposedly to direct the movie, but it may not happen for a while now. Source: IGN

Frodo is deeply hurt.

And one last word in, I would like to say R.I.P. to Roy Scheider who passed away yesterday. He was most famous in his role in Jaws and Jaws 2 as Chief Brody, as well as the guy in French Connection. He was also Frank Castle's dad in "The Punisher", which I just found out. Well doesn't matter what movie he was in, he will be deeply missed. Take care Det. Buddy.

What's In the Briefcase?

Welcome to my second post! Hello weary travelers! What do I mean by The Briefcase? Simple, most of you who have seen Pulp Fiction and very little of you have seen Primer (has nothing to do with The Briefcase), but it refers to whatever you want it to be. I'll have posts and things like that for whatever I find of interest and hopefully you like it too. Well I got nothing new to report, just that the writers strike is slowly coming to an end and I leave you with this:

Crates?! A Warehouse?! What does this mean for Indy? Hopefully its not spoilerific...
