Epic Mickey May Stray Away From Its Original Concept
I sincerely hope that's not the case though. I truly hope to God since it was quickly becoming one of the best platforming games I have seen in a long while. Warren Specter has made some amazing games in the past and I just hope he is not swayed by Disney to take away some of the best concepts he has made for the game. One of the big features of the game I am looking forward to are the 3 ways Mickey can change depending what he does in the world of Wasteland. There’s the Hero Mickey, the Mickey we all know and love today, in which Mickey does mostly good things in the game. Then there's Wastelander Mickey in which he appears this way when he does both equally good and bad things. Then there's Scrapper Mickey who is more mischievous and closer to his old Black and White version. The later is reported to be scrapped (pun intended) completely from the game. It is a rumor at the moment as I have only seen one article on it and I just really hope its not true. If that's the case more things in which we have seen concept from can be canned from the game as well. Its one of the things that's really kept me from liking the game, a darker and more disturbing Disney world is what I want and what I think most people want.
Image owned by gameinformer by the way.
The source seems really unreliable, but they do say this: "People don't like when you mess with Mickey," said creator Warren Spector. "We did a focus test that was really eye-opening for me. There was a biker dude saying, 'Oh, I'd never play a Mickey Mouse game,' and then we showed him images of a changed Mickey. I was sitting there thinking, 'You're gonna love what we do,' but he said, 'No! Don't mess with my childhood.'"
Don’t listen to a biker dude Warren Spector, listen to us the gamers. Who in the past has ever listen to a biker dude, or a biker dude who doesn’t even play video games? Warren Spector should remember this is for the gamers and for true Disney fans, not some biker dude he pulls from the streets. This is why video game companies shouldn’t do focus testing on people who don’t even play video games…

Another Classic Returns
Remember the days of the Dreamcast and how many incredible games it has? And now are being ported over to the Xbox 360? Well, one of those awesome games isn’t going to the 360 surprisingly. I kinda wonder why, but I think its also because Sony owns a bit of licensing on the game. But so does Windows…how does that work out? Its also going on WiiWare which just seems bizarre to me. Which classic do I speak of? Well, its a classic among certain people, because it was, indeed, a strange game. The game I speak of is MDK2. No, not Mario vs. Donkey Kong, its literally MDK. And when I mean strange, it was indeed a strange game. It has a doctor named Fluke Hawkins who suspiciously looks like Doctor Wiley from the Mega Man games. A janitor who plays the hero while wearing the infamous bizarre suit. And a 6-legged robot dog who helps out the hero while welding guns. Yeah, your right, there are stranger games than this. Oh yeah and something about aliens? Well, if you haven’t played, see for yourself when the game comes out for the Wii in Winter and the PC,(yeah I guess they still have rights then) as MDK 2 HD, soon after.

The One Game Console to Rule Them All?
Before I begin to even articulate just what I have just read, from 2 websites mind you, I still have to recollect myself for what I have just witnessed.
OK now.
The game console that may actually destroy Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PS3 is coming soon. It could also be hardly called a Console, more like a little black box that lets you play games in High Def either on your laptop that doesn’t require any gaming hardware AT ALL or either on your TV in High Def. What is this magic game box you ask? This my friends is called the OnLive.
I do know it works in a way how YouTube works. No downloads needed, just all through network streaming, and no lag.I also know about skeptics, since its been tried before:
A box full of suck (Has nothing to do with you AFOS).
So will it work? The developers say yes, but we will either have to wait for the beta to be out in Summer ‘09 or wait for the full release in Winter. As far as I know, most video game enthusiast websites says it does work. Others may have to wait for time to tell. I say if its gotten this far, it most certainly works, but then again time will tell as well.
So what say you? I’m on board. If too expensive ? I may have to wait as well. In the meantime, you can sign up to be a beta tester here: http://www.onlive.com/beta_program.html
The Nintendo Wii also seems to be taking a beating at the GDC this year in the wake of the Xbox 360’s new peripheral:
What seems the point of the Wii now? Or the Wii’s Motion Plus with Microsoft’s GameTrak Freedom on the horizon? Well this will either head towards Nintendo’s fun games or Xbox 360’s next gen graphics.
A new war is brewing and I am scared.Saturday, August 2, 2008
Who Are You Not Gonna Call?
Its been one pretty interesting two weeks. Went to Comic-Con which was a big learning experience. Saw a lot of things, things we didn't see, and things, that well; we wish we never saw. Also we went through a recent earthquake which was highly debated just how strong it was. It went from 5.8 down to 5.4. Pretty shaky, but wasn't too bad, it only woke me up and didn't knock anything down fortunately. Again this is earthquake country at least it wasn't so bad as recent earthquakes have been. So its all been good.
Until recently have I read a recent article about how things are shaping with Activision about their recent bought of Vivendi. I thought it was cool, until I read the article of the games that have been revitalized and games that may be dropped from the Vivendi publishing studio. The few games that I read about that have been saved, are mostly games which mostly been used up and have really no place in video games anymore, but when I came up on the bigger titles with more potential that might be dropped; I was stunned. The games on the list were: BrĂ¼tal Legend, WET, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and World in Conflict: Soviet Assault, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. No way. Ghostbusters may be dropped? I saw it at Comic-Con!
(See some guy is playing the demo)
It can't be dropped it looks really good and one of the games I was really looking forward to. But they can't. It wont be. Even the guys who made it said so! So what will be the final verdict? Who knows, we have to wait and see for now.
With other things aside, there have also been talks of a Venom movie, who will be in the next batman movie, and other craziness like this new Harry Potter trailer for the new movie:
You can watch the High Def version of the trailer here.
Also a demonstration on the new WiiMotionPlus peripheral:
Video of the Day:
Most people by now know about the Late Night with Conan O' Brien show on NBC which is filled with much hilarity and lots of randomness. Here's Conan doing a little community service, so to speak; for UPS:
Also be sure to check out Triumph the Insult Dog's trip to Comic-Con in these two video's (Extra Warning: if you aren't a fan of a dog, that's a puppet, insulting people in cruel ways; watch at your own risk):
Triumphs Full Speech at Comic-Con
Movie Posters that look like other Movie Posters:
Here's another installment of the series, which I completely made up, that shows off how lazy the people who make posters; really can be. Now here's two that completely have nothing in common and one's a movie and one's about to become an HBO series, so it can somewhat be forgiven, but not completely:
