5 Things We Learned From I Am Legend And More News.

• Welcome to the first segment of 5 things we learned from. Because of my poor will to be creative I have thought of 5 things that I Am Legend taught us about the world and about movies. Here it is starting from 5:

#5: When your infected/A Vampire you have no skin.

One of the very things that happens to you when you become infected from Will Smith’s version of I Am Legend is that your skin and hair are gone. Yet most of your clothes remain. You may be creepy as hell, but your missing a lot of your human features. This also happens in most movies when your infected, either that or your covered in either your own or someone else’s blood.

#4: If your not infected, lock yourself up in any way to not be seen or barricade windows, the infected won’t get in.

This bothered me a bit. Compared to the book, the book made more sense. For one thing Robert Neville is in an actual house. Will Smith Neville is not. Couldn’t they find other means to get in or just do what they did at the end? It seems the infected can get into the penthouse, yet you can never tell because of the explosion. Also they were Vampires in the book.

#3: When a virus breaks out, make sure you live near New Hampshire.

What else can I say? Just run for it.

#2: Never go full CGI on the infected.

No movie should ever do this. Especially with them. You couldn’t get full actors/actresses for them? It was interesting while it lasted, but it all seemed to much and unreal. Never, ever do this again in a movie.

#1: In the future their will be a Batman vs. Superman movie.

Just watch it before the end of the world. Here’s a picture where it was in the movie. Unfortunately, there's posters for other stuff, but those aren’t important. Just seeing it makes me more want to watch the movie. The only off-putting thing is the use of the old Tim Burton logo, which brings back all the bad Batman movies back in mind. But then again,they never make the same mistake 3 times. Unless your talking about Superman. I won’t go into that:

• Planet Of The Apes isn’t far off from how society is going on today with making chimps full-fledged citizens. It may start in another part of the country as apparently chimp population dwindles. Poor chimps; don’t worry you will soon rule us all.
• Just got the Indiana Jones set. My associate will make you buy it. I was about to buy the Best Buy set, but because of troubles with the economy (That’s an excuse, I’m just poor) I had to compensate and buy the Target set:

I’ll post pics later with the haul I’ve gotten after summer and some during. Also I wanted to save up for a horror game. I might go with Silent Hill: Origins first, but I’m still contemplating on getting either Dead Space or Silent Hill: Homecoming. I’m really bad at making choices.

• Make sure to mark your calendars for October 28 since Spike TV will be showing Scream 2008, an award show supposedly, and will honor horror icons and feature lots of other cool stuff including footage from the Friday the 13th remake and some Watchmen clips! Don’t forget the date!
• Next week The Incredible Hulk will be out on DVD so its time to save money again. I don’t know the exclusives which I was told of bit is all forgotten, but the set includes deleted scenes and a neat Easter Egg from one of the scenes. I won’t ruin it too much but they include a certain Avenger other than Tony Stark aka Iron Man. The new DVD of Iron Man also featured a little of an Easter Egg within the movie of this certain Avenger. Bet you can’t guess who it is if you don’t know:

And So It Comes To This...

Well Summer has past and gone by, at least for me anyway. A new semester has started so blogging may take longer than usual now. My classes are somewhat good, unfortunately I have an 8:00AM class so I will be more tired than I ever have been before. Although it is piano, so it somewhat subtle of a class. Other classes on my list is a class called Motion Picture & Television/Radio, and Lettering and Typography; both ranging in good classes. Another class year, more ways of becoming incredibly lazy and days involving procrastination. Besides school, this summer has still not ended for most people. What do they look forward to? Perhaps the recent movies that have just been released such as Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (If your a fan), and/or another round of The Dark Knight (Especially in IMAX). Nothing much else as happened unless you are keeping up with the Beijing 2008 Olympics or have yet to be in school (for you Floridians) and have been preparing or in the approaching storm. Well whatever the case here are the top five events that have happened during summer just for fun:

#5: Bigfoot Corpse in a freezer; A hoax or not? -

This was solved a few days ago: A hoax. Don't believe it until it is proven, especially from the same guys who said they found a corpse a couple years earlier. This was not only disappointing, but again we were fooled to believe something that clearly resembles a monkey suit with fake teeth and fake guts sticking out. The picture most people have saw was unclear, but still smelled of a hoax. We should have disproved it right away when DNA results came back of that of an Opossum.

#4: Iron Man was good? -

But sadly the video game was not. Yes, most people were skeptical (like myself) at first of the new Iron Man movie with the rejuvenated Robert Downey Jr. helmed the huge part and become an instant success. Who knew? I sure didn't, at first I thought it was going to be another Hulk, but it ended up being really funny and really cool. Robert Downey Jr. was really funny in this and see him even more funnier as he portrays the part of an African American in the new Tropic Thunder movie.

#3: Comic-Con '08 -

I say its big since it is the biggest Comic Book convention ever, but I actually got to go to it. Yep, I went for one day and it was one heck of an event. Lines were a bit long, but weren't anymore since we arrived late on account of a traffic accident. Don't ask. It was cool though, we saw a few celebrities, didn't get to the autographs section or see any panels, but this was my first year and was a good day. We got a semi close-up of Alfie, a hover ship from the upcoming Watchmen movie, some new toys, and what else? The Comics. I'm sure we will se more next year. Right?

#2: Michael Phelps Wins 8 and Chinese at the Olympics controversy -

Olympics are still going on, but I got to admit, I haven't kept up with most of the Olympics, although what I did see was two of Phelps' Gold wins. Especially the really close 10ths of a second win which blew my mind. You seriously have to have lightning fast arms to do something like that. (You can see Michael Phelps' picture above along with all the other mayhem) I also saw the gymnastics with the super young Chinese girls, which is still in controversy. As well as the fake fireworks, the Chinese singing girl perfection (actually probably not the right term), and other wins by the Chinese and other countries. All mostly paranoia, but I still dislike the fact about the singer controversy.

Honorable Mentions: California 5.4 Earthquake and Fires -

Anyone else feel that? The reason these didn't make the list is because; no one really talks about it. Sure the fires are serious deal to the people who live within the area, but the earthquake was relatively small compared to the past. Most people thought it was big since its been a while since their has been one. Although it also has said it is just the beginning and just paves the way for an even bigger earthquake. We doing anything about it?: Not really...no.

Indiana Jones, Mulder and Scully return to the big screen -

What a summer for movies this year, we got to see not only Hellboy and Hulk, but Indy and our favorite paranormal FBI investigators come back to the big screen. Indy was a fun adventure I say, but X-Files seemed like an old episode from the past. It was cool to see them back but was mostly for the fans. Yeah I'm a fan and enjoyed it as well as Indiana Jones.

Now that we got through all that, what is the most thing that has shaked the industry more than the earthquake?:

#1: The Dark Knight Premieres -

What else? Being on top for 5 (I think) straight weeks is no easy feat with all the other movies that have premiered. Its one heck of a movie. From start to finish, you will enjoy every minute of it. Unless your one of those people who drift out too easily for some odd reason, you should enjoy it. Its even on its way to defeat Titanic from being the top grossing movie ever. But most importantly is Heath Ledger's fantastic performance as The Joker. He's the man of the hour and is what makes this movie great along with everyone else. This is one thing Joker can't make disappear.

Updated: I've Been Meaning To Talk About This

Just a few weeks ago I went with my cousin (Who has a blog linked in the blog list) to 7-Eleven and noticed very new things including promotions for the Iron Man Slurpee cups, as well as a cookie that seemed to be sold out, and straws for your Iron Man cups. (There was also this Iron Man Helmet Slurpee cup which is totally awesome, but I bought a few days later, but I digest...)I also noticed a two new assortments of M and M candies. There is new flavors like Wildly Cherry (with dark chocolate I believe) and Mint Crisp (Which was the only new flavor in favor (kinda rhymes) of the new Indiana Jones movie. Here are some pictures :

The Cherry flavor I find disgusting, but since I had it with the awful tasting Vault Slurpee it may have been that. So try it for yourself. People definitely have to try the Mint Crisp; it tastes awesome. Thats of course if your a mint person. So go to 7-Eleven soon since its the only place I've found both of these and probably the only place you will find it. The Indy and Iron Man promos are pretty cool. Also see if you can still find the Iron Man helmet. Its a whopping $3.50 for the very well done cup, but well worth it since the first drink is free. Also you may want to check out the pink frosting Simpsons Donut. Probably the only piece of The Simpsons Movie Promotion they kept, but it still tastes great.

What's In the Briefcase?

Welcome to my second post! Hello weary travelers! What do I mean by The Briefcase? Simple, most of you who have seen Pulp Fiction and very little of you have seen Primer (has nothing to do with The Briefcase), but it refers to whatever you want it to be. I'll have posts and things like that for whatever I find of interest and hopefully you like it too.
