And So It Continues…
It has come to the attention in the blogosphere that Thomas Dolby (co-authored Howard the Duck Theme Song) has leaked some information about George Lucas’ recent projects. Which include all things Star Wars of course. Among these things is the Live-Action TV show, video games and a new movie. Yep, we all knew something along the lines it was inevitable we had to see something new from the Star Wars universe. Most likely continuing the Star Wars Original Trilogy. As much as I would like to see something new, the friend of George Lucas has spoke a little too soon on recent happenings including the new movie. Should we take this with a grain of salt? Or actually take it as news and might actually have some importance? Either way its something. I am probably causing more problems with mister Dolby on this, but oh well.
We need more Fett!

Happy Halloween News Update
Hey just thought I would update since its been awhile in one huge post today. I am now back from New Jersey and my recent activity is catching up on some Halloween movies and other in relation to that I have missed to get the feel of Halloween. I have also decorated the page with a new Halloween banner and I will give a coke to someone who can guess what the theme of the banner is from (I myself won’t dress up since I was late to get a costume). We’ll here’s some updates for the week:
- Today Conan O’Brien asked a Monster Truck Driver to smash a huge pumpkin with awesome results. Also Conan almost got injured again.
- New Epic Mickey pictures were unveiled during the week, nothing too ground breaking yet, but its looking really good.
-I’ve been trying to get in all the Halloween movies I can for the week, which includes some of Trick ‘r Treat, The Exorcist (finally saw it), Enemy Mine (not a Halloween movie by the way), and some of Nosferatu. I also saw some Goosebumps while I was away and went back to some old episodes of Are you Afraid of the Dark? Yeah way behind…
- A new DSi was unveiled today apparently, not sure why. It is dubbed the DSi LL in Japan and in Europe: DSi XL. I bet you know where I’m going with this. Its still the DSi, but big surprise; its huge. Why? For the extremely hard to read and people with huge hands that’s why. I only wonder why it wasn’t released with the DSi as an added option. Yeah…
More pictures here.
- As an added note I am also watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose, another movie about Exorcism, and also saw The Office and 30 rock. Jim gave me a new Halloween costume idea. Yet, too little?Monday, October 5, 2009
Disney is The New Dark
What is it? Its a new game from a new studio that is definitely going to take Disney down a path it has not known. As it says on the cover the title is called: Epic Mickey. And epic indeed, the style is quite different. Here is more chilling concept art:
Kingdom Hearts; this ain’t. I seriously can’t take more after this last one. It seems the studio is taking Disney to an Alien-Robotic Apocalyptic Hell and it seriously is scaring the crap outta me, and probably for all you other pre-Hanna Montana Disney days as well. Can’t wait to see it. Its a Wii exclusive and probably be ready for the first mature Disney or could be just a teen game. Very Mature overtones though. More will be revealed in London apparently on October 28. Just in time for Halloween I suppose…

Reporting From New Jersey
In True Indiana Jones Fashion
Well its been a long week and forgive my lateness on my travel here, but I felt I needed a certain feel for the new New Jersey environment. And there’s one thing I have noticed most of all: There’s a lot of trees here. If there’s one thing I notice back in LA is the lack of trees and how there’s a bunch of smog. Here it seems very forest oriented. Not that there’s smog here I just notice many many trees. Well maybe I should go back to the beginning and my flight here which was back on September 12th and 13th. I don’t think I shall ever fly at night ever again. Its very dark, cramped, and I got a bit nauseous. It was my first flight ever after all. I did catch up a bit on my The Dark Knight Returns reading though.
I also thought my flight would be 6 hours, instead it was 3. Sleep also slipped my mind as I also figured out I will and lost 3 hours of sleep since of the new time change. I am now 3 hours ahead of people which sucks a bit once you think about it. Earth orbit and science sucks.
Well anyways, second flight was not too bad. I got an aisle seat, but since no one sat next to me I got a window seat instead and enjoyed the view which made me a bit nauseous again.
Also I should comment on the in-flight food: First flight which was a bit updated than the second one, wasn’t that great. All we get is free soft drinks (about a kids cup size) and pretzels. Pretzels make me very thirsty. I became very thirsty, I only got one drink. Did I mention I didn’t like my first flight? Second flight wasn’t too bad. The cookie they gave us was one of the best cookies I have ever eaten and I also experienced the restrooms for the first time which is very very small.
Well now in New Jersey the contact I was supposed to meet found me right away and went straight home. Well kinda, I unpacked and went to my contacts aunts house to pick up the bed I would sleep on and I helped to assemble the bed frame to make that story short.
Well now I am here, its been about 2 and a half weeks and its going pretty well, considering its nice here, but job hunt is going poorly unfortunately. I could be home soon since because of that. Oh well its pretty nice here though. There’s also another reason most people know about the contact I met with but all will be explained in time. I will report more next post. For now I am working on a holiday gaming post so stay tuned for that.Tuesday, September 22, 2009

DVD Exclusive Smash
I need to work on the title for this. Today we have very different mash of Exclusives. Normally I wouldn’t talk about disney exclusives, mostly because of how lame they have been in the past. But this week we have a very unique and interesting mash of exclusives. Also some aren’t exclusives, the re-release and Blu-ray edition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, which is out in October, has some very interesting mix of things to come. It is also probably the most exclusive and specifically released movie I have seen. In other words I have seen 6 different packaging types for this movie, well from Amazon.com anyways. Well, 7 if you count Best Buy’s exclusive Steelbook packaging which is actually included and can be used as a separate packaging. I am also a bit confused with a certain piece of packaging which is the 2 disk set. You can choose between DVD packaging and/or Blu-ray packaging; both containing DVD and Blu-ray discs respectively. Kids and both adults-fans of the movies will be treated quite well and to their specific packaging needs. Just take a look at the exclusives: (also I won’t make it huge to save room, and just click on the image for bigger art detail)
In Order: Regular DVD packaging and DVD Packaging with DVD and Blu-ray Combo.
Here is the Blu-ray Diamond Edition which does include Blu-ray and DVD combo. Next to this is another non-exclusive but which includes a book (not sure what it contains). And $10 off your next Disney store purchase.
Here’s the biggest one which thought deserved a bigger space for: It comes in a huge box which has the collectors book shown above in a nicer book art (apparently), the Blu-ray and DVD, some production art, and apparently snow white with the seven dwarfs in a pin set. Now that’s what I call going all out.
Now here’s the final of the DVD goodies we have here, and this one includes the DVD and Blu-ray with Plushies of the Seven Dwarfs. Very cute for kids or people who are into the Plush collecting. Next to that is the Best Buy Exclusive Pre-sale Steelbook packaging. Its small, but that’s all I could get.
I have no problem with the choices on how you want to get your Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs copy I really respect this actually since this was the first actual Disney movie release. If your a huge fan of Disney before the Miley Cyrus and High School Muscial era (this era unfortunately), then you have a wide span ways on how to further your Golden Days of Disney collecting. Now if only they did this for Pinocchio or Peter Pan…
The Office: Season 5
Yep, not done yet. I got to talk about The Office Season 5 release. There are more exclusives now that I thought was going to be out for tomorrow. Here’s what Best Buy is getting; which is my favorite I think:
Everything that’s in the Shrute Farms box set is said right in the picture. Very awesome and huge set, but I really want this. Its really awesomely themed and got a good amount of stuff. I only wish it was in Blu-ray though, I’m hoping for a Blu-ray set like this.
This one I found very plain like most Target exclusives. Its very small but reads: Includes 45-minute interview with the writers, a script and cast magnets. I’m not too crazy about this one.
FYE is also having a small rebate on the DVDs for the money saver people. You get the DVD for only $27.99 after the rebate, a very nice money save.Saturday, September 5, 2009

Time to Say It
This will probably be at least a very personal post, but this is something I have been planning very quietly in the dark of my bat cave (my room) for quite some time. Because of how messy the timing and how short a time it is, I may not be gone for long, depending on circumstances. I cannot really explain every single detail, but I have decided to very quietly take a leave of absence to the very faraway state of New Jersey. This will happen in a little more than a week. The reason I cannot fully explain is because I am not really sure how to explain myself. There is no reason for this, but one would be I would like to travel one day, and this is just a small start of it.Maybe I wanted to try something new, I cannot fully say. I do know I want to do some new things which include visiting some conventions coming very soon to New York, which is right next to New Jersey if you don’t know your geography well. I can very well report the happenings of the Anime Festival and Wizard World New York. Again I cannot fully extend the reasons for my actions I just thought I would do this for a little while or long while; depending on circumstances once again. I will be back again though, so things may be borrowed from my room as long as it is returned. I will also so I will be in fact be back by the time of the holidays. I am just rambling on with that, but I surely will be back. Future updates can be posted for updates on myself and what life is like in New York (its going to be bad). Well time to make the switch with Conan O’Brien and see what’s going on there, the unfortunate thing is they have Jimmy Fallon and not Conan anymore, but they still got David Letterman, right? Well, anyways only thing left to say is adios, and see you again soon family, friends (who are reading this), and Los Angeles.

Top 10 Favorite Comic Book Movies
In collaboration with A Fistful of Suck we try something different as we both make our top favorite lists and compare the two, knowing there will be differences, similarities and debates (possibly) within the two. It took about half a day to compose this list deciding exactly what the list will specifically consist of. The aftermath was decided on Movies based on Comics,Graphic Novels, and Manga (Japanese Graphic Novels). So to clarify it cannot be the other way around or be like an example like Unbreakable nor The Incredibles. I will include shorter lists for other random stuff. So here’s my favorite comic book movies:
10.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Live Action Movies
We start now to one of the earliest of my childhood comics and heroes; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I really wanted these movies to be higher, but because I put them all together I had to keep them lower on my list. Well last, but still I loved the first movie, second movie for Super Shredder, and third, well, it played a slight homage to the Turtles in Time game, right? Here’s hoping to a good remake.
9.) Superman
An absolute classic by anyone really. The late Christopher Reeves is really the mirror image of the comic book character. This is definitely the best Comic Book movie based on Superman, but it doesn’t quite take the cake of the all time best. It spawned a few sequels and an alternate story to the second movie. And another alternate story negating the 3rd and 4th movies. Superman has quite taken a rough patch in movie history, but a few movies have made it to be great nonetheless.
8.) Akira
A list that included comic and manga based movies at least deserves a spot for this violent animated trip. Made from the very Japanese mind of Katsuhiro Ôtomo this movie very much defines what Japanese animation consists of. This animation is very grown up. You see things that can’t possibly be shown in a regular kids cartoon. When I first saw this it really messed with my head, the story line was different. Its hard to actually describe the movie. Just know its violent, got cool bikes, and kids (or teens) kill stuff.
Dishonorable Mentions:
Now time for something different. Probably not something to mention because of the brutality and horror this films induced when first mentioned, seen or even made. This films killed the comics we read because of the poor production values, or just because the movie was just awful. You can thank me later for just mentioning them:
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace – 3 was bad, but Nuclear Man? Where the heck is Bizarro? Christopher Reeves didn’t deserve to be punished like this for his character to receive this…
Son of the Mask – Even mentioning it hurts me so…and hurts the first movie.
Batman and Robin – This hurt me even more to even have seen it. As a kid i didn’t know any better, but seriously why do this to our beloved Batman franchise? I think just remembering what I saw and realizing how bad it was is what happened. Thank god for Chris Nolan. Monkeybone – Another movie I had the displeasure for watching since I actually saw part of the movie being filmed at the Natural History Museum not knowing what’s going on. To this day I still have no idea what that movie was about. Also it was a comic book?Ri¢hie Ri¢h – Don’t get me started Macaulay Culkin.
Howard the Duck – Sexual relations with a humanoid duck, I won’t say more.7.) 300 and Sin City
Continuing on…I am going to go out on a limb and say I like these two equally. Both have a nice style and feel of comic books. Essentially to me feeling like true true comic book movies; if that makes sense. These movies presented a new style of filmmaking which included mostly on a green screen or blue screen (yes technology is weird). But anyways these movies have really made a new big step into comic book movie making, something different for helmer’s to take if nothing else won’t work. But don’t make mistakes like The Spirit; at the same time.
6.) Batman (1989)
I’m Batman.
Tim Burton’s Batman to be precise and the start of iconic music and the start of real Batman movies. Adam West movies are fun and campy but this is true modern Batman now. It was dark and shows Tim Burton’s true dark style to movies. Also I thought Jack Nicholson was crazy, but didn’t think he was crazy as the Joker. Yet, I am proven wrong. I am kind of put off by Prince music, but only a minor put off (not really a Prince fan). The movie is still a great first Batman movie.
Honorable Mentions:
Just half way to the end of my list, here’s a few movies that didn’t make my list:
Batman Returns – Right after Tim Burton’s first Batman outing, we are introduced to the gross out Penguin, played by Danny De Vito. And Catwoman, played by Michelle Pheiffer. You gotta love the score from the movie as well.
Hellboy 1 and 2: Hellboy has always been a strange character for me to get into, but his movies are always fun. A devil demon who eats a lot of 3 Musketeers bars and cares for cats.
The Crow: Brandon Lee is the son of the best Kung Fu master in the world Bruce Lee, so we know so far what we are getting into. Brandon Lee may have died in between the movie do to an accident on set, but did make one great last movie.
Mystery Men – Didn’t make it to my list, but the movie dared to be different. It was strange yes, but I liked it for the most part. Also its based loosely on a comic called The Flaming Carrot. The movie looks better.
The Punisher – I really wanted this to be on my list, but I had more fun with the other movies on my list though. I also think this movie is very highly disregarded. The channel FX may side with me.
Constantine – Better than anyone says believe me. Its based on the comics of Hellblazer. Not sure of the differences, but I like the movie. Keanu Reeves, only sometimes.
Watchmen – Another movie I really wanted to be on my list; I love the comic book but its still not entirely the same from the book. I still love the movie, the different ending is still a little off though.
And just movies to mention for space: Batman Begins, The Incredible Hulk, Men in Black, The Mask, Wanted, Spiderman, X-Men movies, and Ghost Rider (for some parts).
5.) Spider-Man 2
During its time, it was probably the greatest comic book movie made. Its been dethroned. Its still really good even for that fact. Best Spider-Man movie in my opinion as well. Its fun, its got Doc Ock played by surprisingly to me by Alfred Molina. Fun Fact: Alfred Molina played a small role at the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I’m totally not kidding about that.
4.) V for Vendetta
A movie about a terrorist blowing up major monuments in London and coming out around the time something similar happened in London probably wouldn’t sound like a good idea. But since it doesn’t take place in our time and considering London is being run by a dictator, it doesn’t really seem to matter anymore. V is the terrorist in the movie, like most terrorists, he has a motive, but has a better reason for it. That all sounded wrong, its a good movie by the way. Natalie Portman is in it. Its bloody good…yeah forget it.
3.) The Rocketeer
Originally going to be higher on my list, which honestly may not be in any particular order. But this is probably my first comic book movie and really started this whole thing that I have started (what is that exactly?). First movie I have seen for a person to don a mask or helmet, and introduced me to heroes. Its not exactly like how the comics are, with Nazi’s on jetpacks, but its still a great movie though. Also not to much sexual innuendo going on here, but in the comics you might see it more. There’s a difference with that. Also this needs a new DVD release and Blu-ray to go with it.
2.) Iron Man
I’m Iron Man; I totally ripped off Batman.
To be perfectly honest, right away and for a while; I didn’t know if I liked this movie. Yes its funny and got all the elements for a good comic book movie but after watching a few old episodes of the cartoon series; I didn’t like it. It seemed too bland of a story and the cartoon was really weird and never went anywhere for me which made the movie confuse my like or dislike for it. After thinking it through and watching it again a few more times and seeing some comedy on Tony Starks alcoholism: I really like this movie. Bring on the second movie.
1.) The Dark Knight
Screw you both; I’M Batman.
Never thought it would be here, or first for the matter. I realize this is a favorites list and not a top ten list, but I have to say I enjoyed this movie so much I couldn’t just not include it. I also thought it wouldn’t be my all time favorite, I actually said it would rank lower. But no, I thought so wrong it didn’t even happen the way I had originally thought. Everyone knows the story, everyone has seen it (by now, and you better have). Its also one of the greatest movies ever made. If someone doesn’t like this, you seriously don’t know a good movie.Saturday, August 8, 2009

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition
Yep it got a longer title, but that doesn't diminish the game in any way. Now what this is about is a new bonus edition to this new game. Yes its a way to cash in, but this time its slightly different and new. Remember Halo 3's Master Chief "Cat-Helmet"? Modern Warfare will have something similar. Take a look:
Good Lord! Working Night Vision goggles?! What an interesting set this is. It will cost about how much the Halo 3 Helmet set costs, a hefty $150. But seriously how can you not want goggles while playing the game or finding your way at night? Can't go wrong with Night Vision goggles.
You also get the first Call of Duty with each set. There is also a Hardened Edition, which I’m guessing includes everything shown in the picture, sans the Night Vision Goggles. It also comes within a steelbook case. I have to get it now. Modern Warfare 2 makes its release November 10, 2009.
Plus a big announcement soon, stay tuned.Thursday, July 9, 2009
The Problem With Computer Slow Downs
Many people have this problem of course, but having experience with computers and with these slow downs I have noticed there are solutions to fixing these. The unfortunate part is that I have found only one solution works and requires a lot of work and a lot of backing up. First I will tell you what doesn’t work only to give a warning; and that’s from websites that either advertise on TV or ads you see on the internet. Those in which include the annoying commercial of FinallyFast.com. (Don’t use it its just a reference) As researching before actually using them I have found none of them work and only give your computer much worse problems. So those don’t work, and then comes to cleaning software which say helps your system, but only slightly. Registry keys are either fixed, slightly fixed and/or can be damaged permanently. I have actually used a registry cleaning tool and I don’t actually see a point to it. I also tried a computer cleaning program which made the computer worse I believe.
Now comes the time for me to actually say: What Works? Only one thing: Actually reinstalling your Windows XP/Vista or whatever other older windows you have. And I mean you have to completely do this. Which requires backing up all your software, personal stuff, etc. I heard somewhere you should do this once a month, but I say that’s too much. I say after a while your computer has problems, like deep problems while you can still save everything is the final point to do it. After that it becomes a huge and extremely slow mess when moving things. Why I say this? Because I actually lost a computer to viruses and registry errors and the like, to this. Its the only way to do this, nothing else will absolutely not work. I am mostly making a very big theoretical outlook on this, but after testing everything else it is my final solution to computer and hardware problems. As long as you have your original computer key and software you are pretty much good to go. Also backup of your stuff is required unless you don’t want to see it again.
My best tip for computer people out there. I seriously see nothing else that will work. Through experience and research this is the best plan I see out there to fix a computer. I will safely say I am no expert, but I seriously don’t want useless or unneeded software in my computer to actually fix my computer. Do you?

Today Begins A New Era For Windows
Well not today per se. But today you can pre-order Windows 7 Premium and Professional Upgrade Editions for 50% off through July 11. It won't be released until October 11, but good price for a new and fresh start for Windows. Yes, I have tried it and yes it should have been Vista. Some people have said the new interface looks like Mac. I highly disagree after playing around with it. The toolbar may look somewhat similar to Macs, but it obviously isn't after seeing how well they have doen something new to it compared to how it is today.

Inside: The 25th Anniversary of Ghostbusters
Ok, I'm going to kinda go in order here. Here's the strangely imaginative music video (in my opinion) for the first Ghostbusters Theme Song. As sung by Ray Parker Jr.:
John Candy's ghost? Not bad other Ray. Next, as to my surprise, came The Real Ghost Busters. Not to be confused with the other Ghostbusters, accompanied by a gorilla which came years before. I still don't know if theres any connection to this day, sans the gorilla. I see no real connection besides the name.

E3 2009: Part 3 - Sony Conference
- 16 GB of Internal Flash Memory
- Integrated Bluetooth
- No UMD Drive
E3 2009: Part 2 - Nintendo Conference
Very cool stuff to say the least. Now onto RPGs. I forgot the name of one game which features many crystals apparently, and a brief trailer for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for the DS which can be watched here:
E3 2009: Part 1 – Microsoft Coverage
Its that time of year again, where video game developers come together to announce awesome new things coming to the video game market. Today was not so different. Microsoft’s conference is long and gone, but did you missed what they announced? Oh boy, what a mix of good things to come for the Xbox 360’s now evolving system. Here is something big you may not have seen called; Project Natal:
Not much at first, until you see the demonstration:
And a small clip of that game I mentioned called “Milo” I believe:
Just seeing the live presentation makes me want to get this even more. This is nothing compared to the Wii nor Playstation’s EyeToy. Especially just watching Natal’s demo, it looks like its come a long way from this, almost perfecting this type of technology. Take a look at the Live Conference Demo:
Looks a little silly yes, like most of Wii’s commercials, but looks like it can be very fun once experienced. Although this confuses me as to why Xbox will have such peripherals such as the GameTrak Freedom and Tony Hawk Ride’s skateboard like controller.
Other big announcements included Modern Warfare’s 2 demo, another Splinter Cell; although it looks awesome too, Left for Dead 2, Forza Motorsport 3, Crackdown 2, The Beatles: Rock Band and---wait for it----not one, but 2 new Halo Games incoming.
The first, which already announced Halo 3: ODST with a new gameplay trailer:Its an interesting new take on Halo, I’ll give it that. We will just have to wait when it comes out later this year. The other Halo game is called Halo: Reach. So far, nothing has yet to be revealed about this, what looks like, small addition to the Halo franchise. It looks like it can be quite big for it to have a Multiplayer demo. Ah, Bungie with its Multiplayer demo’s and it in general. When will it end? Not a bad thing necessarily, but that’s a lot of Multiplayer Halo’s now. Watch the Reach trailer teaser:
What’s It about? A prequel? I don’t know really. Its Halo!
The biggest news of the day? Not only will a new Metal Gear Solid Starring Raiden appear on the Xbox 360 called “Metal Gear Rising'’, but the whole Metal Gear Solid franchise is moving exclusively to the Xbox 360(!) A pun yes. Another triumph for 360 has come. Does it mean a substance like game of Metal Gear Solid 4 to be coming to the Xbox 360? It is more likely. Most people expected a game starring Raiden would be coming, but the whole franchise? Now that’s big. The Metal Gear series has been since only been exclusively for the Playstation. Well we did get a few Metal Gear games with extra stuff for the Xbox, but now having it exclusively is certainly a win for the Xbox.Is E3 over? Of course not. Tomorrow will be both Nintendo and Sony’s conference. Watch both live on G4TV or look for updates on www.ign.com or www.gamespot.com starting at 9am with Nintendo’s Conference and Sony’s at 11am. What will Nintendo reveal? A new Zelda game? A new Mario game? Watch tomorrow for the results. Can’t wait on either one. Sony, don’t disappoint us, like you have already and in the past.
Also be sure to catch history in the making as Steve Wiebe of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters fame, try to reclaim his title as be tries to break the Donkey Kong world record live again tomorrow. He should be given full support and if you haven’t seen the King of Kong documentary you got to soon. Anyways, good luck Wiebe!
Extra E3:
This is cool:
